‘Sabine and Harley ’ is the name used to describe the musical duo of bassist and occasional singer Sabine Tapia and guitarist Harley Coleman. After meeting in 2022 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music jazz course, they began writing and performing original jazz-folk songs which have been described as ‘running into an amazing friend you haven't seen in years’. While being involved with a variety of different bands in different settings, Sabine and Harley regularly enjoy coming together to play music in the duo configuration, an enjoyment that is evident in their interactions and compositions. They are currently recording an EP of their songs.
Harley Coleman is a musician of a truly staggering amount of words. The only thing you’d be able to find in the form of a bio on his online presence is the word “guitar.” The music speaks for itself, and playing with many local artists, Harley is a foundation of the three-piece band Sandcastles and performs solo improvisational sets that range from fast-paced fusion jazz scales to crystalline ambient textures.
EBS is a singer-songwriter from Sydney. Very influenced by songwriters such as Becca Stevens and Billie Marten, her sound straddles both folk and jazz in the genre.
We’re very excited to share the project of Ebony aka EBS, fresh off the launch of her new ambient folk single Stained Glass. This weekend we have her dive deeper into her sonic world, and lay it all out under our gazebo for you to enjoy. Please come float along the serene lullabies, and land yourself right on the grass in front of our little abode!
Godriguez, leader of Sydney's finest eclectic underground band Godtet and instrumentalist/producer does not need a lot of introduction. His journey and collaboration with residencies at Lazy Bones and last year's project at NAS called Future Ancient Strings is one that traverses many different cultures and music styles.
Manfredo Lament awarded Independent Artist of the Week by FBi Radio.
“Meet our Independent Artist of the Week this Week Manfredo Lament - the shapeshifting, improvisational jazz-soul adjacent band who's lineup literally changes at every gig 🎹 their sound is a compositional mosaic of buoyant and psychedelic infused improvisational synth jazz not to be missed.”
Congratulations Manfredo. You rock.
Leah joins us for a solo performance from the Sydney band Kyoshi. Kyoshi have synthesised their own distinct voice, a psychedelic take on modern future-soul; a profound combination of rich vocal harmonies, eclectic rhythmic ideas, lush synth textures and deeply fragile lyrical content.
Stories surround us. In the land, in the people, in the secondhand clothing, in the jewellery passed on to us by family, in the buildings we work and live and move in. Jo Elise takes these stories and weaves them together on guitar, creating lush harmonic soundscapes with voices and sampled sounds. Inspired by songwriters from the 70s, jazz records and cinematic landscapes, as you listen you’ll find yourself on your own adventure.
Playground resident artist santpoort brings us a semi-live improvised set with live-looping ambient field recordings, fluctuating vocal snippets and beats to float away to.
Henry Hanson is a Sydney-based folk artist who combines emotive melodies and tasteful arrangements in order to create soundscapes and atmospheres that are both thoughtful and evocative.
